Fresh off the block is Butcher's Cut, the newest steakhouse in the San Diego Gaslamp, which provides aged steaks and plenty more. Dennis and I were lucky to indulge in the wide array of food and drink samples during a recent media party!

Here's a view from the entrance showing the main dining area as well as the ample bar.

Meat Display at Butcher's Cut in San Diego

Our eyes were drawn to the back of the restaurant where a lighted display caught our eye. This large meat locker window shows off some of their amazing cuts!

For example, this beauty is their Porterhouse Steak, which we got to sample that very evening! It was cooked to a lovely medium rare and was seasoned perfectly!

Drink options aren't limited to wine though. We sipped on some delicious cocktails from the friendly bar staff. One of the thoughtful bartenders also created a non-alcoholic drink with mango that was pretty AND tasty too. Bottoms up!

Let's move onto some of our favorite dishes of the night... The very first bite was dreamy and decadent with this Honey Peach Glazed Pork Belly. It melted wonderfully in your mouth plus had a sultry sweetness.

Lobster Ravioli at Butcher's Cut in San Diego gaslamp quarter

The Lobster Ravioli was another favorite bite with a flavorful filling and dressed up with fennel, orange zest and emulsified butter. This came with five ravioli per dish.

Octopus at Butcher's Cut in San Diego gaslamp quarter

This Octopus Carpaccio was thinly sliced and tender with a light lemongrass caper zest but we weren't sure whether to eat the salad on top too!

I love eating salmon so this fresh Seared Salmon Sashimi was delightful, especially with the soy lemon vinaigrette.

Clam Chowder at Butcher's Cut in San Diego gaslamp quarter

The Clam Chowder was charmingly different by including the clams in half shells! Creamy and captivating.

Burger at Butcher's Cut in San Diego gaslamp quarter

If you want to go with a hearty burger and fries, The One Pounder will satisfy! This indulgence contained sauted onions and mushrooms plus some fresh guac on top. I couldn't resist the side of fries which were crispy and seasoned like curly fries.

Mushroom Toast at Butcher's Cut in San Diego gaslamp quarter

For non-meat options, the Mushroom Toast was an amazing alternative. The wild mushrooms and aged parmesan really gave a punch of flavor on the crusty bread.

Tiramisu at Butcher's Cut in San Diego gaslamp quarter

We had to try the desserts of course. This Tiramisu was divine, creamy and chocolately, and a perfect finish for the meal!

The evening was fantastic as we surprised our taste buds with one delicious dish after another. Butcher's Cut is an ideal spot for a date night or night on the town with your closest crew. We enjoyed the preview and would love to have some of these dishes all to ourselves on the next visit!
